When we rang in the New Year at the Red Roof Inn Painted Post, we hoped for a relaxing family getaway but were met with some unexpected challenges. The staff was genuinely kind—an absolute gem in a sea of renovations that weren’t mentioned on their website. The outdoor pool was certainly a highlight for the kids, plus being pet-friendly made it easier to travel with our furry mates. Sadly, we had no cell service and no wifi, and the dining room was closed, which made it tough to keep the kids entertained. Still, the friendly staff worked hard to make our stay pleasant, proving that great customer service can shine through any hiccup. If you plan on visiting, make sure to check the current amenities and updates; it’ll help you avoid any surprises and ensure you make the most of local attractions like Watkins Glen and the Corning Museum of Glass.
